History of Swift
The brand "Swift" has existed since 1869. It was originally a British manufacturer of sewing machines, but by the end of the 19th century, its management has decided to expand the range manufacturer of bicycles. In 1900 Swift has released a lightweight four-wheeled motor carriage, followed by several models.
The car proved popular and by the beginning of the First World dealers offered 5 models of the brand. At the beginning of the war production was converted to military needs, leaving civilian cars only 12-strong HP12.
After the war the company produced mainly light civilian car, of which the most popular was the model Twelve. Subsequent modifications to 1930, were not competitive due to the use of outdated design and high cost in comparison with similar products of other manufacturers.
